Ohio Native fruiting American Plum tree. Approximately 3 ft tall as sold.

Native American Plum trees are found in a variety of habitats across Ohio, including woodlands, forest edges, open fields, and along streams or riverbanks. They thrive in areas with well-drained soil and full sun exposure.

These trees typically grow to heights of 15-25 feet with a spread of 15-20 feet. They have a rounded to irregular crown shape and develop a dense canopy of foliage.

In early spring, Native American Plum trees produce profuse clusters of fragrant white flowers before the leaves emerge. These flowers are important for early-season pollinators, such as bees.

The fruit of Native American Plum trees is small, round to oval, and typically yellow to red when ripe. They ripen in late summer to early autumn.

Trees can start producing fruit after 2-3 years. American plum trees are self pollinating!
