Light: Golden pothos thrives in bright, indirect light but can also tolerate low light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, especially intense afternoon sun, as it can scorch the leaves. A north or east-facing window is ideal. In lower light conditions, the variegation on the leaves may become less pronounced.
Temperature: Maintain average to warm room temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C) year-round. It can tolerate temperatures as low as 50°F (10°C) briefly but prefers to be kept away from cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations.
Watering: Water golden pothos thoroughly when the top inch or so of soil feels dry to the touch. Allow excess water to drain away completely. It's better to underwater than overwater, as overwatering can lead to root rot. Reduce watering in winter when growth slows down.Humidity: Golden pothos adapts well to average indoor humidity levels. It can tolerate low humidity but benefits from occasional misting or placing the pot on a humidity tray filled with water and pebbles.
Soil: Plant golden pothos in a well-draining potting mix. A mixture of regular potting soil with added perlite or orchid bark helps improve drainage. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent water from sitting around the roots.
Fertilizing: Feed golden pothos every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce feeding in autumn and winter when growth slows down.Pruning: Prune golden pothos as needed to maintain its shap
