Loves humidity! Approximately 1ft tall. Multiple available
Light: Triostar Stromanthe prefers bright, indirect light. It thrives in filtered light or dappled sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight, especially intense afternoon sun, as it can scorch the leaves. A north or east-facing window is ideal. In lower light conditions, the colors on the leaves may fade.
Temperature: Maintain warm temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C) year-round. Avoid placing the plant in drafty areas or near heat sources like vents or radiators. Triostar Stromanthe is sensitive to cold temperatures and should be protected from temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
Humidity: Triostar Stromanthe thrives in high humidity. Aim to provide humidity levels of 50% or higher. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves regularly, using a humidifier, or placing the plant on a humidity tray filled with water and pebbles.
Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, typically every 1-2 weeks depending on environmental conditions. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent water from pooling at the bottom, which can lead to root rot.
Soil: Plant Triostar Stromanthe in a well-draining potting mix that retains moisture. A mix formulated for tropical plants or a blend of peat moss, perlite, and pine bark works well. Ensure the soil is aerated to promote healthy root growth.
Fertilizing: Feed Triostar Stromanthe every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce feeding in autumn and winter when growth slows down.
Pruning: Prune yellowed or damaged leaves regularly to maintain the plant's appearance. Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears to make cuts close to the base of the stem. Remove any spent flowers or old growth to encourage new growth.
Potting and Repotting: Repot Triostar Stromanthe every 1-2 years in spring if it has outgrown its pot. Choose a slightly larger pot with drainage holes to accommodate its root system. Refresh the soil and inspect the roots for any signs of overcrowding or disease.
