Light
: Elephant ear plants prefer bright, indirect light. They can tolerate partial shade but avoid direct sunlight, especially intense afternoon sun, which can scorch their leaves.

Temperature: Elephant ear plants thrive in warm temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C) during the day and not below 55°F (13°C) at night. They are sensitive to cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations, so keep them away from drafty windows or doors.

Humidity: These plants prefer high humidity levels. Mist the leaves regularly or use a humidity tray filled with water and pebbles to increase humidity around the plant. Alternatively, place the plant in a bathroom or near a humidifier.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry. During the growing season (spring and summer), water more frequently, and reduce watering in winter when growth slows down.

Soil: Plant elephant ear plants in a rich, well-draining potting mix. A mix that retains moisture but also allows excess water to drain away is ideal. You can use a blend of potting soil, peat moss, and perlite or sand for better drainage.

Fertilizing: Feed elephant ear plants every 4-6 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce feeding in autumn and winter when growth slows down.

Potting and Repotting: Repot elephant ear plants annually in spring into slightly larger pots to accommodate their growing size. Use fresh potting mix and ensure the new pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.

Winter Care: In colder climates or during winter months, elephant ear plants may go dormant. Reduce watering and withhold fertilizer during this period. Protect them from cold drafts and consider bringing them indoors if temperatures drop below their tolerance level. You can also store the bulb in a cool dry place for the winter.
