A showstopper in your medicinal herb garden. Self sowing annual.

Sweet wormwood, scientifically known as Artemisia annua, is an herbaceous plant that has been traditionally used in Chinese medicine for centuries.

It typically grows 2-3 feet tall, although it can reach up to 6 feet under optimal conditions. It has finely divided, fern-like leaves that are green-gray in color and emit a strong, pleasant aroma when crushed.

Great for teas and also dried for arts & crafts.

Sweet wormwood contains a compound called artemisinin which is a nobel prize wining treatment for malaria, and is now being studied in Phase II Clinical trials as a potential cancer prevention & treatment due to its anti-tumor properties.

Note from Claire: I've participated in these phase II clinical trials as a patient and had a successful outcome, so this herb is near and dear to my heart and I'll always have it in my garden!
